Mateusz Rzycki

Researcher · PhD (2023)

Antimicrobials, bacterial membranes and AI-driven molecular design.

About

Mateusz Rzycki completed his PhD in 2023 in the MEDΦ group with a theoretical model that decomposes the antimicrobial effect into a physical, simulation-driven picture. He builds mimetic bacterial-envelope systems, including realistic E. coli models, and studies how surfactants and antiseptics act on them.

His recent work moves from analysis to design: generating new membrane-active antimicrobials with machine learning and testing them against specific bacterial microdomains. He is supported by a National Science Centre grant and co-develops numerical tools for membrane-interaction analysis.
